Nationwide Shade Trees Planting Programme 2008

This programme will be held simultaneously nationwide in conjunction with National Landscape Day on 3 March 2008.
It is anticipated that 8,000 – 10,000 shaded trees will be planted throughout the country.

Tree Planting Campaigns

25 March 2006 :
Sabah State level Tree Planting Campaign at Beaufort, The campaign was launched by YB Dato' Hajjah Azizah bt Datuk SP Hj Mohd Dun

17 May 2006 :
Sarawak State level Tree Planting Campaign at Kuching The campaign was launched by YB Dato' Hajjah Azizah bt Datuk SP Hj Mohd Dun

22 June 2006 :
Tree Planting Campaign with Malaysia Local Authorities Women Council Members at Langkawi, Kedah, The campaign was launched by YB Dato' Hajjah Azizah bt Datuk SP Hj Mohd Dun

23 June 2006 :
Tree Planting Campaign in-conjunction with the 23th Puspanita General Meeting at Puspanitapuri, Putrajaya. The campaign was launched by Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Samsudin Osman.

28 August 2006 :
Negeri Sembilan Tree Planting Campaign Grand Launching Ceremony at Port Dickson District Police Headquarter., The campaign was launched by YB Dato' Hajjah Azizah bt Datuk SP Hj Mohd Dun.

9 September 2006 :
"Gotong-royong" and Hibiscus Planting Programe" with the Trainee of National Service at Papar Training Camp, Sabah. The programme involved a total of 76 National Service camps nationwide and was officiated by YB Dato' Hajjah Azizah bt Datuk SP Hj Mohd Dun, Deputy Minister of Housing & Local Government Malaysia. A total of 3,800 trees and 15,200 hibiscus were planted.

14 September 2006 :
The "49,000 Bunga Raya Planting Program" nationwide in-conjunction with the 49th National Day Celebration, 2006 The programme which was launched by YB Dato' Hajjah Azizah bt Datuk SP Hj Mohd Dun, Deputy Minister of Housing & local Government Malaysia. It involved the National Anti-Drugs Agency, Mosques and KEMAS.

Exhibition at Penang International Floral Festival, Penang Botanical Gardens.

25-28 May 2006 :
Exhibition at Johor International Orchid Show, Johor Bahru.

Edible Garden – Not just for the eyes exhibition at LAMAN2006.

Shaded Trees Maintenance Course. Organised by National Landscape Department and FRIM

1 August - 20 October 2007: "Trees For Life" Photography Competition

A photography competition with the theme " Trees For Life" was held to emphasize the creation of awareness of the importance of trees in our life and the surroundings.
